Road Cone Candles

road-cone-candles.jpg

A road cone is a provisional element which delimits urban spaces. A candle illuminates domestic spaces in an ephemeral way. Mixing both concepts we can get a hybrid which temporarily lights up and delimits spaces. Sizes: big: 47 cm x 29 cm, small: 30 cm x 22 cm. Colors : white and orange..  [via]

Thanko’s Lazy Geek’s Cushion

thankooo2.jpg

For those people who want to look for different ways to sit comfortably when they’re reading and using laptop, I can say that here’s a great solution. This unique cushion from Thanko offers a comfortable way to lay on your stomach and type. It would support your frame and likely help with any back discomfort. No info on pricing, but I’d love to import one.

Unusual Box

When I saw this Shit Box design, I was left without words because the idea is so crazy and amazing. Created by Little Jack, this lightweight portable cardboard toilet was designed for outdoor use and pops up from a convenient 14-inch flat pack form. Each package comes with ten bio-degradable (good for the environment) poo boxes. This unique box toilet can be yours for around $30.  [via]

A Gym in a Closet

If you are someone who like exercise, you may want to have your own gym at home. But most people don’t have apartments large enough so they can have their own training rooms. Now here’s an interesting space-saving idea that can resolve the problem above. With a closet like this, you will have enough exercise in your own house and will not take up large space.  [via apartmenttherapy & inewidea]

Torn Lighting

Designed by Billy May, Torn Lighting concept is a brilliant way of adding some light to your apartment. Torn Lighting is perfectly disguised on your wall while hiding it’s LED lights, and looks like some kind of weird space-time holes torn into your walls and leaking light into your room.

Patch Old Walls with Lego

wall-lego.jpg

wall-lego2.jpg

This work was done in Bocchignano, Italy, a village close to Rome, as part of the group project “20 Eventi”. As you can see from these pictures, all the cracks in the walls there filled in with LEGOs! What a great idea!

Constant Garden Speakers - a music player and desktop organiser

constant-garden.jpg

Created by designers Annika Ushio and Vanessa Satele from Umea Design School, Constant Garden is a device that combines relexation and information, helping you during the day with your appointments and besides that, displaying nice garden sounds inside the office to remind you that there ismore to life than work. It’s designed in rubber, and each of those Shrek-ear-like fronds holds a mini speaker that also lights up with LED magic.

Crazy Grass Bed

The Grass Bed is just a bed concept right now, but I’ve decided to present this bed because the idea is quite crazy and might give you an inspiration. No matter what the weather is like outside, if it’s winter or raining madly, you can relax peacefully on your very own bed made out of grass. Invite your friends and I can sure that this cool grass bed can make them say “Wooow”.  [via cribfashion]

Datamancer’s Steampunk Laptop

What do you think about this Steampunk Laptop designed by Richard R. Nagy. I think that is a really elegant and innovative design and I was thrilled when I saw these pictures. At a first glance, this may look like a Victorian music box, but inside this intricately hand-crafted wooden case lives a Hewlett-Packard ZT1000 laptop that runs both Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux. I love this creation, especially the addition of a pen holder and a ball-point quill pen on the end of the wireless card.  [via Designersblock]
