Magical Spinning LED Christmas Star

Siemens and artist Michael Pendry created “the world’s biggest revolving Christmas star” in Münich, Germany. Amazing and magical! 9,000 LEDs were superglued to a wind turbine in just under two weeks. It uses as much energy as a hair dryer. The city of Münich will keep up the Christmas Star until the Day of Ephiphany on Januray 6, which is the last official day of the Christmas season. Mintpass Cube Music Player for Men

Mint Cube is a retro style music player designed exclusively for men. MintPass is quickly becoming a source of great new and interesting products. The 2-inch Mint Cube features a striking cubic design that’s punctuated by large analog meters on three sides of the cube. The frontal one is the volume unit meter, another tells you how much battery life remains, and the last one tells you what station the built-in FM tuner is dialed to. The cube may not have a LCD screen, but it has VU meter and other analog indicators that can attract enough attention from your friends. It is great for men who are fashionable and tech savvy.

Wallet Flexio Solar Powered FM Radio

By designers Wu Kun-chia, Wang Shih-ju, Chen Ming-daw and Liou Chang, Flexio is a really awesome radio that’s solar powered and portable. It includes a speaker on one side and a solar cell on the other, both of which are light and flexible. The design would be modified to be a wallet itself, with speakers within and the solar panels as the exterior. The only drawback to the design is that the radio only picks up one fixed FM channel.

Map-Hole Manhole Cover with City Map

This concept is a road guidance tool that is designed to direct pedestrians and travelers to their final destination using existing elements in the urban landscape. It locates the pedestrian with a starting point and provides information on the exact distance and average walk time to the listed landmarks. Designer Kwon also provides a proposal for selling advertising space to local establishments. Map-Hole also provides new advertising space for location based retailers which can be quite effective when provided the information of distance and the short time it would take them there.

The Continue Time Clock

The clock “Continue Time” was designed by Sander Mulder. On this Continue Time clock, two out of the three pointers rotate around another pointer, instead of the central point on the clock face, as with traditional clocks. The result is kinetic artwork that changes it shape continiously during a 12 hours rotation.
