Loop - an Eco-friendly Add-on for Kitchen : I feed my Kichen - my Kitchen feeds meJuly 9th, 2008

When I first saw the picture above, I immediately thought that it was a trendy piece of furniture, but actually no, it was an green complement for kitchen. This latest kitchen concept of the Loop from Teresa Ttillebacher and Birgit Dejaco from Austria. It can help you to live an eco-friendly life but don’t need to sacrifice style. The Loop is a small power plant that provides energy to all of the kitchen appliances.

Inside of Loop is a methane gas processor, which extracts methane from the decomposing materials. The gas is either used directly for the gas stove or boiler or is converted into electricity by a methanol fuel cell. Loop is also a piece of furniture. In contrast to the rest of the surface of loop, the sitting zone is made of a soft flexible membrane, which transfers warmth from the inside of loop and provides a comfortable spot to chill.

And the highlight of this eco-friendly add-on is that you can grow your greens on the surface of loop. More and more people are living in cities in small apartments. Still, they want to have fresh organic herbs and vegetables. Loop is a garden: Herbs and vegetables grow on the surface of Loop. The consistently warm surface is the ideal home for plants which are automatically nourished by the rich natural fertilizer. Lastly, Loop also provides water and essential storage space.
