Ovation iDea Guitar with a Built-in Mp3 Recorder
The new Ovation iDea acoustic/electric guitar is the first and only guitar of its kind, featuring a built-in MP3 recorder/player. The digital recorder is part of the on-board Ovation preamp. Besides recording your playing, it can play back a song so you can play along, and also slows down the music without changing the key, making it easier to learn a song. The iDea can record from the guitar alone, simultaneously from the guitar and built-in microphone, and from an auxiliary input. When you’re done recording, there’s a USB port that lets you transfer your recordings to a PC for editing and sharing. The Ovation iDea is going for around $600 at places like ZoZoMusic.
