“334″ Newspapers Bench

The “334″ bench is the first furniture of the “X days project” series by Oscar Lhermitte who studys product design at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design. The “334″ bench is made of three parallel bars of metal and 334 old newspapers folded and stacked next to each other. Because of the large number of newspapers stacked in the 3 bars, the whole structure is very strong and can support more than 5 persons. The “334″ bench costed around 5 pounds.

    you mean the whole thing “cost” not costed around 5 pounds right?

    The 334 bench is not an available product, but you would easily be able to do that cost only 5 pounds to make.

    This recycle idea is so great, and the design is so simple… Congratulations! Imagine if every person had one of those in their house, the number os newspapers they’d recycle…
