Float - an innovative bed designed by Max Longin who gets idea from a suspension bridge. Float is held in place by four stainless steel cords that are connected to a frame of wooden rods and steel bows which can support a weight of up to 2645 lbs. The construction of the bed is based on the idea of the central point of rest to which everything leads in a pliable and soft way. Float can be easily assembled and dismantled into several parts, so it is easy to transport anywhere. Float is available at a starting price of $6200.

This is sweet - highly impressive design…. Max is the man. I give it a thumbs up for awesomeness. Hope you sell heaps man! With projects like these I think you can aim to make 3 initially, keep one for yourself and sell the other two to cover the costs. 6K is a fair markup in the grand scheme of things.

$6200? For that price I think I could come up with a design, build it myself and save 5k at a minimum. At least then I could sleep at night not think how retarded I would have to be to shell out that much for a bed “frame”

I think that with the materials used, cost of production (including labor, probably only done by him so far and not mass produced), and the innovative design, 6k is decent pricing.

If anyone were to make one on their own, it would cost less because of the materials they used, and the fact that they are making it for themselves, not factoring in time and labor costs.

This is a wonderful idea and looks very stylish. I like that it can be packed up when needed, that means it can be moved with you if you change residence.

I always applaud innovation rather than sticking with the same old thing (waterbed - sigh).

    very nice

It’s nice, but it’s way over priced for a piece of furniture. It’s priced like a piece of rare art.

    It isn’t.

And YA! Sean. I miss my waterbed :(
