1.  Advertising with Google Maps, it looks like advertisers have realized that with Google’s online satellite pics on Google Maps, there is a completely untapped space for more eyes to see their logos.   Link

2.  People from the Russian town of Chelyabinsk has been aware of the exact timetable of the “QuickBird” satellite passing over their city and planned to make a massive yellow smiley face in order to commemorate their city in Google Earth.  Link

3.  The project “Map” is a public space installation questioning the red map markers of the location based search engine Google Maps.  Link

4.  The object Urban Cursor, which is shaped as an oversized 3-dimensional computer cursor (pointer), was placed on a square in Figueres, Catalunya during the cultural festival Ingràvid. People could touch it, move it around and sit on, it had a built in GPS tracker which transmitted its location to Google Maps.  Link
