Puma’s Mopion Cargo Bike

Industrial design firm KiBiSi, Danish bicycle manufacturer Biomega and Puma has collaborated to produce the Mopion cargo bike, a cargo bike accommodating the urban lifestyle.

      “mixes city bike features and cargo bike features, making it a sturdy companion. It comes with a super-size innovative front carrier for heavy duty transport of your groceries or other needs. Developed for city dwellers, Mopion features a light aluminum frame, making it a one-of-a-kind lightweight cargo bike weighing only 22 kilos. The geometry holds the body in a slightly inclined, but still heads-up position for navigational ease and exceptional balancing.”  From the designer site

‘Bufalino’, An Apartment on Wheels

German industrial designer Cornelius Comanns managed to turn a tiny three-wheeled car into a rolling home. This small vehicle apartment is fully equipped with a bed, two seating units, a cooking zone, a basin, storage space, a water tank and a refrigerator to offer the comforts of a home on long journeys.

The Longest Public Bench in Britain

The longest bench(324 metre) have been installed by Studio Weave on the seafront at Littlehampton in Britain. The bench can provide seating for 300 people, and there are plans to extend it to 621 metres.

Manhattan Beats the Heat with Dumpster Pools

The Bloomberg administration will open three Dumpster Converted Pools for the first three Sundays of August on the east side of Park Avenue between 40th and 41st Streets. The pools are designed by Macro-Sea and Vamos Architects, and range in size up to 22-feet wide, making them much larger than the typical dumpsters.
